Missing Professor Hassan Nandwa has been found dumped in Mwingi, Kitui county.
According to his family he was found alive but shaken.
This comes four days after the high court ordered police to effect his location despite the National Police Service (NPS) denying knowledge of Nandwa’s whereabouts.
The NPS instead said it had launched investigations with the aim of bringing to book his abductors.
Prof. Nandwa was abducted when he left Jamia mosque after evening prayers over a week ago.
The family said police raided his Nairobi home in search of his client Elgiva Bwire that night.
However, Bwire, a self-confessed member of the al-Shabaab terror outfit linked to the October 24, 2011 terror attack at Kaka bus stage along Race Course Road, is still missing with his whereabouts unknown.
His appeal saw his life sentence reduced to 10 years in prison.
