Mastar VK YouTube Channel Disappears
Kenyan rapper Mastar VK has lost access to his official YouTube channel, creating a new twist in the controversy surrounding his song “Kitemeo.”
The channel, which had built a following of more than 50,000 subscribers, disappeared from YouTube in recent days.
A recent channel-tracking listing put the account at about 60,000 subscribers, highlighting the size of the audience affected by the disappearance.

The development has attracted attention because it comes weeks after Mastar VK was involved in a copyright dispute surrounding “Kitemeo,” a song associated with fellow rapper Kapitani.
However, the rapper has now rejected claims that the two events are connected.
Mastar VK Says His Channel Was Hacked
Mastar VK has said that the disappearance of his YouTube account was the result of a security breach.
In a statement shared through his social media platforms, the rapper said his official account had been hacked and that his technical team was working with YouTube to regain access.
He also specifically denied that the incident was connected to the “Kitemeo” dispute or to anyone involved in the disagreement.
That clarification is important because speculation quickly emerged online after fans noticed that the channel was no longer available.
Rather than describing the incident as a copyright punishment, Mastar VK has presented it as an account-security issue.
The Kitemeo Copyright Dispute
The disappearance comes after a public disagreement over “Kitemeo,” which brought Mastar VK and Kapitani into the spotlight earlier this year.
Mastar VK accused Kapitani of using his work without permission and demanded that the song be removed from digital platforms.

The dispute centred on questions of ownership and creative rights surrounding the track.
The disagreement later took a different direction when Embakasi East MP Babu Owino said he had helped mediate between the two artists.
According to The Standard, Babu said the dispute had been resolved and that Mastar VK had agreed to restore the song on YouTube while the two musicians continued working together on other projects.
The MP also said he was involved in a new project with both artists.
Why Fans Connected the Two Incidents
The timing of the channel’s disappearance naturally raised questions among fans.
The account vanished only weeks after the public dispute over “Kitemeo,” making some followers suspect that the copyright disagreement could have played a role.

However, there is currently no verified evidence establishing that connection.
Mastar VK himself has rejected the theory, saying the channel was compromised through hacking.
YouTube’s own policies also distinguish between copyright strikes and other types of channel termination. The platform says copyright-related termination can happen after repeated copyright strikes, while creators can appeal certain termination decisions.
In Mastar VK’s case, the exact technical reason for the channel’s disappearance has not been independently established beyond his statement that the account was hacked.
Mastar VK Works to Recover His Digital Platform
Losing a YouTube channel is a major setback for an artist whose music and audience depend heavily on digital platforms.
The channel had accumulated tens of thousands of subscribers and served as an important home for his music videos and other content.
For now, Mastar VK’s team is focused on recovering access.
The rapper has urged fans to rely on updates from his verified social media accounts instead of unconfirmed claims circulating online.
A New Chapter After the Kitemeo Dispute
The situation leaves Mastar VK facing two separate developments at the same time.
The “Kitemeo” disagreement has reportedly been resolved through mediation, while his YouTube channel remains unavailable following what he describes as a hacking incident.
Whether the channel will be fully restored remains to be seen.

For Mastar VK and his supporters, recovering the platform will be important because it represents years of music, content and audience growth.
For now, the rapper’s message is clear: the disappearance of his channel should not automatically be linked to the “Kitemeo” dispute, as he says the account was compromised and efforts are underway to restore it.
