A statement issued by Odinga’s spokesperson Dennis Onyango confirmed that the opposition leader left the country in the company of his delegation on Wednesday.

“Mr. Odinga and his delegation left the country at 4 PM today,” Onyango said.

The Spotlight on Africa Infrastructure Development conference, which will be held in Dubai, brings together high level officials and Ministers in Infrastructure, Energy, Transport, ICT, and Water Sectors as well as private sector companies leading in the Infrastructure industry.

Mr. Odinga, who is the African Union High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa, will brief the conference on the second phase of the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA PAP2) being implemented from 2021-2030. He also plans to to engage stakeholders on the effective delivery of infrastructure on the continent.

“He will further brief the conference on infrastructure and Energy improvements that are necessary for increased economic growth in the wake of the meltdown caused by the corona virus,” Onyango added.

Mr. Odinga is expected back in Kenya next week.
