According to police, only two of the eight women have so far been formally identified. One of the identified victims is 38-year-old Elizabeth βTsontsoβ Moselakgomo, who was reported missing after leaving home for a run. Her body was later identified by her family.
Another woman, aged 35, was found in Kwa-Thema on September 15. Her identity had not yet been released at the time of the latest police update.
The discovery of the bodies in several locations has raised serious concerns about the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Police Warn Against Premature Conclusions
Although investigators are examining whether the cases are connected, South African authorities have warned against drawing conclusions before the investigations are complete.
