Businessman Khalif Kairo Appeals for Financial Support Amid Multiple Legal Battles
Businessman Joseph Wambui, popularly known as Khalif Kairo, is reaching out to well-wishers for financial support as his legal troubles intensify following a recent re-arrest at Milimani Law Courts. The entrepreneur, who has built a reputation over the past decade in the automotive industry, is now facing mounting challenges, including legal battles, negative media attention, and the sudden shutdown of his crowdfunding campaign.
The arrest occurred on Tuesday when Kairo, accompanied by his mother and lawyer, went to Milimani Law Courts for a scheduled mention of his two ongoing cases. After the session, police officers confronted him and took him to Parklands Police Station, detaining him overnight.
In a heartfelt plea shared on social media, Kairo expressed frustration over the worsening situation. “After attending a hearing at Milimani Law Courts, I was re-arrested and held at Parklands Police Station overnight on another matter. We have tried everything in our ability to resolve this issue amicably and ensure we fulfill deliveries. However, the negative media publicity and constant police involvement are putting us in deeper waters, severely affecting our ability to operate. All our offices are currently closed,” he said.

The businessman further revealed that his crowdfunding campaign, which had raised approximately KSh 12.9 million, was abruptly halted. “Due to these legal issues, our funder campaign was shut down last night after crossing the USD 100,000 mark. This makes it even harder for us to recover,” he explained.
Kairo appealed directly to his supporters, friends, former clients, and business associates to assist him during this challenging time. “This is not an investment but a donation. Once the dust settles, we will issue a statement and provide an audit trail of how we utilize the funds to rescue the company. Proceeds can be sent to the @kai_and_karo account,” he noted.
Despite the setbacks, Kairo remains defiant and committed to fighting for the survival of his business and safeguarding his clients’ interests. “Giving up means falling victim to the forces that want me to shut down the company, which would result in my clients losing their money. Fighting means overcoming these storms, sorting each issue out, and emerging stronger. I will not let any of my clients down,” he vowed.

The entrepreneur emphasized the resilience required to navigate the challenges of running a business. “No journey to the top is 100% perfect or without setbacks. Even in the midst of these massive storms, I still trust in God. Giving up has never been an option. Today we suffer; tomorrow we win, and the cycle goes on. But giving up or falling into depression should never be an option. We must fight!” he urged.
Kairo also expressed deep gratitude to his followers and well-wishers who have stood by him during this turbulent time. “I want to thank everyone for the support. Some of these battles are beyond me, and it’s tragic that sometimes this is the price you pay for trying to make it big as a young person. I don’t take your support for granted, and I know we will recover and do great things. May God bless you,” he concluded.
As the situation unfolds, Kairo’s story serves as a reminder of the challenges entrepreneurs face and the importance of community support in times of crisis.
