Diddy Accused of Dangling Woman from Balcony in 2016 Incident
Sean “Diddy” Combs, the well-known music mogul and entrepreneur, is facing yet another serious legal battle after being accused in a new lawsuit of a disturbing incident in 2016, in which he allegedly dangled fashion designer Bryana “Bana” Bongolan from a 17th-floor balcony. This latest claim adds to the growing list of legal troubles surrounding Combs, including accusations of sexual assault, threats, intimidation, and physical harm. He is also currently facing federal charges related to a racketeering and sex trafficking scheme. Combs has denied all the allegations, including those in the new lawsuit, and maintains that the claims are without merit.
According to the lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles, the alleged incident took place at the apartment of Combs’ then-girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, in 2016. Bongolan, who had been staying at the apartment, claims that Combs became enraged after banging on the front door and shouting. Once inside the home, he allegedly confronted her on the balcony, where he allegedly grabbed and molested her. The lawsuit further claims that Combs then lifted Bongolan up and dangled her over the edge of the balcony, putting her life in danger. Bongolan, who weighed approximately 100 pounds at the time, struggled desperately to break free from Combs’ grip, throwing her weight back in a futile attempt to avoid falling. Despite her efforts, Combs is said to have easily overpowered her, further escalating the situation.
The lawsuit also describes how Ventura allegedly came outside to intervene in the confrontation. Combs then reportedly pulled Bongolan back over the balcony ledge, slamming her onto patio furniture. Bongolan claims that she did not know what provoked the incident and that it was just one example of a long-standing pattern of intimidation and abuse throughout her professional relationship with Combs. According to the suit, Combs had continuously threatened and bullied her since they first met when he approached her about collaborating on projects such as a clothing line and album cover art.
The allegations in this new lawsuit are particularly troubling given the history of abuse and misconduct allegations against Combs. In addition to the various accusations of physical harm, Combs is also facing claims of drugging people and threatening witnesses. The music mogul has already been named in multiple lawsuits that accuse him of serious offenses, including sexual assault, abuse, and other forms of misconduct. His legal troubles have drawn significant attention, especially as he is also facing federal charges related to a sex trafficking and racketeering scheme.
Combs’ representatives have consistently denied all allegations, including the ones made by Bongolan in the new lawsuit. They firmly assert that the claims are baseless and emphasize that the truth will come to light in court. In a statement, Combs’ legal team stressed that anyone has the right to file a lawsuit, but they are confident that the facts will ultimately prove the allegations against him to be unfounded.
In addition to the lawsuit filed by Bongolan, there are echoes of similar claims in a lawsuit filed by Cassie Ventura in 2023. Ventura’s suit accused Combs of abuse, rape, and sex trafficking. It also described a shocking episode at her apartment where Combs allegedly picked up one of her friends like a child and dangled the friend over the balcony, a scene eerily similar to the one described in Bongolan’s case. This similarity raises further concerns about a pattern of abusive behavior allegedly perpetuated by Combs.
Bongolan, in her lawsuit, is seeking $10 million in damages for the alleged incident, which she describes as the culmination of a series of threats, intimidation, and violence she experienced while working with Combs. She claims that her interactions with him, both professionally and personally, were often marked by fear and abuse, which ultimately led to the traumatic encounter she describes in her suit.
Despite the severe nature of these allegations, Combs has maintained his innocence. His legal team is confident that the lawsuits against him will not stand up in court, stating that he believes the judicial process will ultimately prove that the claims are baseless. Combs’ legal troubles have placed a spotlight on his actions, particularly as the music mogul’s career and public image have come under intense scrutiny in recent years.
Currently, Combs is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, after being denied bail on three separate occasions. His legal woes are far from over, and the outcome of this case could have significant implications not only for his personal life but also for his public persona and business empire.
As for the future, the allegations against Combs continue to raise serious questions about his character and the impact of his actions on those around him. With multiple lawsuits pending and the possibility of further legal consequences, Combs’ career and legacy remain in jeopardy as the judicial process unfolds.
