Close friends, including notable names like Kelvin Kinuthia, Diana Daisy, and Trudy Kitui, have shared their sadness, reminiscing about their cherished moments with Gatwiri. After news of her passing emerged on October 31, several content creators, including popular figures 2Mbili and Mary Tindo, visited Kenyatta University Mortuary, where her body is being held, hoping to pay their respects.
Speaking on the situation, 2Mbili urged respect for Gatwiri’s family during this difficult time. “This has hit us hard. I just want to tell everyone to respect the family,” he said, encouraging the public to give the family space to grieve.
Mary Tindo, who had shared the stage with Gatwiri, expressed her sorrow despite their limited personal interactions, remembering Gatwiri as a talented performer. Tindo reflected on the news, saying, “I came to confirm for myself. Although we didn’t work closely together, I was a fan of hers.” Out of respect, they refrained from viewing Gatwiri’s body, hoping to return when her family could be present.
