Stoopid Boy Burial Drama Continues as Family Dispute Deepens
The burial arrangements for Kenyan Arbantone rapper Stoopid Boy have continued to attract attention after a disagreement emerged within his family over where the late musician should be laid to rest.
Stoopid Boy, whose real name was Edgar Odhiambo Ochieng, died in August 2026, leaving behind grieving relatives, friends and fans of his music.
Reports initially indicated that part of his maternal family wanted him buried in Nyandarua, where his mother is based. His father and some paternal relatives, however, maintained that the rapper had expressed a wish to be buried at his father’s family home in Alego, Siaya.
The disagreement eventually led to a court order stopping the planned burial.
Stoopid Boy Burial Plans Spark Family Dispute
The disagreement became public after different sides of the family gave conflicting accounts of the late rapper’s wishes.
According to K24 Digital, family friend Moses said Stoopid Boy had previously expressed his desire to be buried at his father’s home in Siaya.

The family friend appealed for the late musician’s wishes to be respected, while acknowledging that arrangements involving his mother’s side of the family were pointing towards Nyandarua.
His father, George William Ochieng Awili, later made a similar appeal, saying his son had repeatedly told family members that he wanted to be buried in Siaya. Those statements were reported as the father’s account of his son’s wishes.
Why Nyandarua Became Part of the Burial Debate
Nyandarua became central to the dispute because Stoopid Boy’s mother is based in the county.
A section of the maternal family reportedly preferred that the musician be laid to rest there, creating a disagreement with his paternal relatives who wanted the burial to take place in Siaya.
The disagreement was not simply about the location. It also raised questions about whose account of the late rapper’s wishes should guide the final arrangements.
Stoopid Boy’s mother, publicly known as Mama Edgar, appealed for both sides of the family to remain calm and find a solution that would allow her son to receive a dignified send-off.
Court Halts Stoopid Boy Burial
The family dispute eventually moved to court, resulting in an order stopping the planned burial.
TUKO reported on September 5 that the court had halted the interment after disagreements between paternal and maternal relatives over the preferred burial location.
Mpasho also reported that the burial had been stopped following the dispute.
The court intervention meant that the family could not proceed with the burial arrangements as originally planned until the matter was addressed.
Stoopid Boy’s Mother Calls for Peace
Amid the disagreement, Stoopid Boy’s mother called for calm between the two sides of the family.
She reportedly expressed disappointment that the funeral arrangements had become contentious and appealed to family elders to find a respectful solution.

Her position reflected the emotional circumstances surrounding the dispute, with the family mourning the loss of a young musician while simultaneously trying to agree on his final resting place.
The situation also attracted significant attention online, with Kenyans discussing the competing claims about where Stoopid Boy wanted to be buried.
Fans Remember the Late Arbantone Rapper
Stoopid Boy became known to Kenyan music fans through his contribution to the country’s growing Arbantone scene.
His song “Gbag Na Jug” helped bring him wider recognition, and his death prompted tributes from fellow musicians and fans.
The circumstances surrounding his burial have since added another chapter to the story of his short but notable music career.
For now, reports about the final burial arrangements should be treated carefully because earlier reports documented a court order halting the burial and conflicting positions within the family.
The key issue remains whether the family will reach an agreement over the late rapper’s final resting place and proceed with the burial arrangements in accordance with the relevant court directions.
As relatives continue to mourn, attention remains focused on efforts to resolve the disagreement and give Stoopid Boy the dignified farewell his family and fans have been seeking.
