Justice Mohamed Warsame sworn in as Supreme Court judge, strengthening Kenya’s apex court following the vacancy left by the late Justice Mohamed Ibrahim.
Justice Mohamed Warsame has officially been sworn in as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Kenya in a ceremony held at State House, Nairobi, presided over by President William Ruto and attended by Chief Justice Martha Koome. His appointment marks a significant moment for the Judiciary as Kenya moves to strengthen the apex court following a vacancy left by the late Justice Mohamed Ibrahim, who passed away in December 2025.

The swearing-in ceremony was held in line with constitutional requirements, where newly appointed judges of superior courts are formally inducted into office by the President after nomination and approval by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) and subsequent vetting by Parliament.
