Eric Omondi Kicks Off Fundraising
Comedian Eric Omondi has launched a fundraising walk from Nairobi to Mombasa to support the construction of the Sisi Kwa Sisi Help and Rescue Centre. The journey kicked off on Tuesday morning, February 10, 2026, at Nairobi’s Nyayo Stadium, drawing hundreds of supporters who joined the philanthropist at the start of the walk.
Hundreds of people walked alongside the comedian as he interacted with them, encouraging everyone supporting his initiative to contribute using the provided details. Omondi maintained a brisk pace along Mombasa Road, covering approximately five kilometres by 9 a.m., with the goal of reaching Sultan Hamud by the end of the day.
The journey will take four days, with the final stop at Mama Ngina Waterfront Park, where Omondi is expected to arrive on February 14, 2026.
Dubbed the “Walk of Love,” the comedian revealed his plan to undertake the ambitious trek on foot to raise funds for the construction of a help and rescue centre.
“On February 10, 2026, I will walk from Nairobi’s Nyayo Stadium to Mama Ngina Waterfront Park, covering a distance of 486 kilometres. And remember, this is a walk of love, as we are doing it during Valentine’s,” Omondi said in a video shared on his social media platforms on Monday, February 2, 2026.
He added, “You can walk with me by sending whatever you can,” while sharing the details for those wishing to contribute. His appeal has since garnered support from numerous well-wishers and corporate partners who have joined him in pursuing his mission. In recent days, he has also met with several governors to brief them on his planned walk, securing their backing.
