Socialite Amber Ray has ignited online chatter with her latest announcement concerning her engagement to businessman Kennedy Rapudo. As the year draws to a close, Amber voiced her impatience over their prolonged engagement, hinting that if Rapudo doesn’t make things official by year’s end, she might remove her engagement ring.
Rapudo first proposed to Amber in November 2022 during a memorable vacation in Dubai. The proposal took place against a scenic backdrop with an intimate dinner setting, where he went down on one knee, leaving Amber both surprised and speechless before she accepted his ring. He followed this with a second proposal in 2023, presenting Amber with a stunning diamond ring at her baby shower, further deepening their commitment.
Despite these romantic gestures, wedding plans have yet to materialize, and Amber is eager for the day her engagement ring will be replaced by a wedding band. In a recent episode of their reality show, Nai-Rich, she opened up about her frustration with the wait, adding that if another year passes without a wedding, she’ll remove the ring as a symbolic statement.
Reflecting on her choice to have her second child, Africanah, outside of marriage, she mentioned her reluctance to have a third without first being married: “If we’re not officially married by the end of the year, I’ll take the ring off. It’s been two years, and I’m the only one wearing a ring—he doesn’t have one! I already had Africanah without marriage, but having a third child without a wedding? No way!”
In the midst of these revelations, Rapudo has also urged Amber to consider stepping back from her high-energy, late-night club gigs to spend more time at home, even offering to match her club earnings if she quits. However, Amber sees this as a compromise on her independence, expressing concerns over giving up a career she’s worked hard to establish.
As the year winds down, many fans are watching closely to see if Rapudo will take the steps to make their union official, bringing Amber’s engagement journey to its long-awaited conclusion.
