“Activist Boniface Mwangi Vows to Fight On Despite Recent Arrests”

Activist Boniface Mwangi has made it clear that he will not be intimidated by the ongoing arrests he endures. He was recently detained at Kamukunji Police Station on Sunday, with the incident occurring in front of his children.

After being released on October 28 without any charges, Mwangi took to his X account to express his gratitude and determination, stating:

“I’m at a loss for words due to the immense love and support I’ve received. I’m free. To the comrades who stood vigil outside Kamukunji Police Station overnight to protect me and ensure I wasn’t moved in the dark, thank you. To my family, my legal team, and every Kenyan who stood with me, may God bless and protect you. I was arrested in front of my children, and I wasn’t given a reason for my detention.”

Mwangi also voiced his concerns about the state of democracy in Kenya, questioning why law-abiding citizens are frequently arrested.

He alleged that the police tracked him through his phone provider without a warrant and conducted an illegal search of his home.

He criticized the government, stating, “Such actions should not occur in a democracy where the President claims to uphold the rule of law. But are we truly a democracy? What kind of democracy shoots unarmed children and arrests citizens for showing their national flag?”

Mwangi emphasized his commitment to fighting for justice, citizenship rights, and accountability, vowing that he will not back down. This incident adds to the list of arrests he has faced as a result of his activism.

Upon his release, he was greeted warmly by his wife Njeri, their children, and longtime supporter Martha Karua, who praised his commitment to the cause.
