Kamene Goro Responds Indirectly as Former NRG Colleagues Accuse Her of Toxic Work Culture

A TikTok video circulating online has brought attention to accusations against former Kiss 100 presenter Kamene Goro by her ex-colleagues from NRG Radio, including Angie Chege. In the video, former NRG presenters allege that Kamene fostered a toxic work environment and negatively impacted her coworkers. One former colleague claimed, “I genuinely looked up to her, but… advocating for young girls is all just talk.” Another recounted an incident in which Kamene allegedly dismissed their personal greeting, saying, “This is my greeting style,” to which the colleague responded that there was no defined greeting style in radio.

The allegations also suggest that Kamene played a role in King Kalala’s departure from NRG Radio, reportedly impacting Kalala’s mental well-being and contributing to a strained mentor-mentee dynamic. One former colleague claimed, “The hurtful things this lady used to tell this girl behind closed doors… Kalala felt scared because she was supposed to be mentored, but things became too much.”

In response, Kamene indirectly addressed the accusations on her radio show, choosing not to name her former colleagues. Instead, she conveyed her reluctance to engage in public conflicts, stating, “Let me put on some lip balm lest they say my lips are dry.” She further advised, “The less people know about you, the better. Not everything requires a response.”

Kamene used a boxing metaphor to emphasize her point on avoiding conflict: “There is no boxing match if only one person is in the ring. Learn to be the person not in the ring.” She advised her audience to refrain from engaging in conflicts with those who do not match their values, saying, “Respect yourself enough to put yourself on a pedestal.”

Kamene, known for her candid personality and humor, recently left Kiss 100 after three years and transitioned to NRG Radio, where she now hosts the NRG Transit show, continuing to share her views and engage with her audience.
