Marya Okoth Focuses on Work Amid Breakup with Comedian YY, Prepares for Cooking Show

Marya Okoth, the ex-partner of comedian YY, has been staying busy with work and content creation, all while trending online. She’s currently preparing for a cooking show and simultaneously dealing with the flu.

Marya, who shares a child with YY, was mentioned by the comedian during an interview with Milele FM presenter Ankali Ray, where he discussed their breakup. On Friday, October 18, YY revealed that he and Marya were never legally married and explained why he moved on quickly after she announced their split.

Following the breakup, YY made headlines again when he visited the parents of his new girlfriend, Noelle, accompanied by friends. The group shared moments from the visit, showcasing their warm reception and a feast during their first encounter.

Meanwhile, Marya has also been active, sharing a glimpse of what appeared to be an interview, featuring Nyashinski’s song “Busy” in the background. The song addresses gossipers, with Nyashinski emphasizing that while rumors swirl, he’s focused on making moves.

Some of the lyrics include:

“Nazile tanga vile una taka nizi bring ni mi dam govoner wa shincity,
While you’ve been gossiping, I’ve been busy, network iko high ka sauti ya Kindiki…”

Marya announced their breakup with YY on September 5, dismissing rumors that it was a publicity stunt. Shortly after, YY was seen with his new girlfriend, who was driving his Mercedes. In a playful video, he used Kenya’s National Anthem to suggest that a “new government” was in place.
