Safina Party Presidential Candidate Jimi Wanjigi is set to announce his running mate on Tuesday, May 17.
Wanjigi expressed confidence that the move will catapult them to clinching the presidential seat and forming a government “anchored on liberating all Kenyans.”
This comes as the deadline set by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to submit presidential running mates lapsed on Monday, May 16.
Presidential aspirants were needed to submit nomination certificates of their running mates to the commission along with their names.
Other contenders for the presidential seat in the August polls have already named their candidates led by William Ruto and Raila Odinga who chose Rigathi Gachagua and Martha Karua respectively.
