MUDAVADI KICKS OFF 10 – DAY VISIT TO THE US, UK

Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has left the country for a 10-day tour of the United States and the United Kingdom.

Through a statement sent to newsrooms on Sunday, Mudavadi’s Presidential Campaign Secretariat stated that the leader departed on Sunday morning for the trip they termed as ‘high-profile’.

“The Amani National Congress leader is responding to invitations by top State officials, key multi-sectoral policy makers and respectable democratic institutions both in Washington DC and London,” read the statement.

Mudavadi is set to give an address during his trip to Kenyans living in the diaspora in a bid to drum up support for his presidential bid in the August General Election.

“The former Vice-President and one-time Deputy Prime Minister will address Kenyans in the diaspora and elucidate his economic blueprint, “Uchumi Bora, Pesa Mfukoni”, and explain how it will resuscitate Kenya’s slumping economic fortunes after the forthcoming polls,” the statement added.

Also in the trip is Deputy President William Ruto who is expected to engage in a conversation on foreign policy, the future of governance and economic development in Kenya, East Africa, and the African continent.

According to a statement to newsrooms by his presidential campaign secretariat last week, DP Ruto will speak at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and at the University of Arizona’s Washington Entrepreneurship Hub.

He will also meet officials of the State Department and the Pentagon as well as the US Government National Security Council (NSC) Advisor.
