A 35-year-old man was on Wednesday night mauled to death by a pack of hyenas at Athi Village in Juja, Kiambu County.
According to reports, Robert Mwangi was heard screaming for help at around 1am.
Neighbors rushed to the scene but were unable to save him from the cackle of about eight hyenas.
Area Chief Sarah Wanjiku confirmed the incident saying the family was notified of the attack, after which Mwangi’s body was transferred to General Kago Morgue in Thika.
This comes barely two months after two people were attacked and killed by the same man-eating wild animals prowling Witeithie area and Thika.
Late last year, police through the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) cautioned Juja and Thika residents of marauding animals that were causing deadly attacks on residents.
