‘KAMA SINGEKUWA SERIKALI YA JUBILEE HAINGETENGENEZWA’- DP WILIAM RUTO FIRES BACK AT PRESIDENT KENYATTA

Deputy President William Ruto has responded to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Monday sentiments on the Jubilee government’s achievements over the years.

DP Ruto castigated the Head of State over his remarks where he outlined his administration’s legacy over the past nine years, saying he was part and parcel of the work and should not be sidelined.

Speaking during a rally at Lumakanda in Kakamega County where he drummed support for the Kenya Kwanza alliance on Tuesday, Ruto said that if he had not rallied his support behind the president, he would not have seen victory and the Jubilee party would not be in existence.

“Huwezi kuniondoa kwa yale mambo yamefaulu. Kama singekuweko, serikali ya Jubilee haingetengenezwa. I made an equal contribution to the success of the Jubilee administration,” Ruto said.

President Kenyatta on Monday, while in Changamwe, Mombasa County, during the luncheon of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) program said he was proud of the Jubilee achievements and had the right to choose his predecessor.

The president hinted to his supporters to rally behind the Raila Odinga-led Azimio la Umoja movement or any other coalition that is in support of his government.

“Chama chetu cha Jubilee kimekuwa kazini, na sitachoka kuonyesha Wakenya kazi ambayo tumefanya na kuwaambia wachague chama chetu na wale wengine tunafanya kazi nao,” he stated.

DP Ruto also told off the Azimio la Umoja team accusing them of plotting to ride on his Jubilee achievements.

He underscored that he had formed the gov’t with President Kenyatta in 2013 & they should keep off his success if they had no track record to show.

“Ati saa hii watu wa Azimio wanajaribu kusema Ruto hana sehemu kwa ile kazi Jubilee imefanya. Hii serikali ni mimi nimetengeneza na Uhuru. Uhuru made an equal contribution as I did,” Ruto stated.

“Kama mnatafuta track record ya Azimio, kwendeni mtafute mahali ingine, na kwa sababu Uhuru anaenda nyumbani, hii track record ni ya William Ruto, mpende msipende.”

In a thin-veiled attack directed to his political foe & ODM leader Raila Odinga, Ruto dressed down the former premier saying he was once a critic of the gov’t & should not act as if he was part of it.
