A 32-year-old man has been arrested for attempting to defile a Grade One pupil in Rabuor village, Ndhiwa, Homa Bay County.
The suspect was arrested after his wife caught him attempting to defile the 9-year-old girl in their matrimonial bed on Wednesday evening.
According to Kajwang’ assistant chief, Enos Nyawade, the suspect lured the minor inside his house when the girl went to fetch water at a water pan next to his home.
Nyawade said that the suspect called the girl from the water pan and asked her to take a tray in the house and then locked the minor inside and took her to bed.
The suspect’s wife returned home minutes later to screams from the girl as she called for help, forcing her to break into the house.
Nyawade added that the wife raised alarm to alert her neighbors and police officer from Kobodo station.
The suspect is being detained at Ndhiwa police station awaiting to be arraigned.
