MURANG’A ROBBERY SUSPECT BURNED ALIVE WHILE IN A PIT LATRINE

A robbery suspect, Joseph Karanja, was on Wednesday night torched alive in Gatanga, Muranga county, a police report from the DCI says.

The 30-year-old has reportedly committed the crime on Tuesday night before going into hiding as angry residents searched for him.

“At the crack of dawn today morning, the unforgiving residents dispatched a search party for the suspect, in the hope that they would get hold of him and bring to an end the persistent robberies that have bedeviled Kiganjo sub-location, in the larger Gatanga constituency,” a police report from the DCI seen by Citizen Digital reads.

According to reports, the search party was almost giving up until around 10a.m on Wednesday when they stumbled upon the suspect, hiding in a 10-foot latrine in his fathers compound.

Thee angry locals, the police said, gathered firewood and other flammable materials which they threw into the pit latrine, killing the suspect where he hid.
