A judge has suspended Britney Spears’ father from the legal arrangement that gave him control of her life after she accused him of abuse.
Jamie Spears was appointed her guardian in 2008, amid concerns over her mental health. On Wednesday, a judge handed the role to an accountant appointed by Spears.
Fans around the world have supported the pop star through the #FreeBritney campaign, and a group of them had gathered outside the courthouse in Los Angeles as the hearing commenced.
As soon as the judge’s ruling was conveyed, they erupted in cheers, with some heard belting out her songs.
