The family of the late fiery politician and first Kenyan woman rally driver Amb. Orie Rogo Manduli has announced the postponement of her funeral and burial services by one week.
The family, in a statement to newsrooms on Sunday, said the decision to postpone the services was arrived at after the deceased’s eldest daughter, Eng. Elizabeth Rogo, was admitted to Nairobi Hospital for treatment.
“The family has considered the situation and decided to postpone the upcoming funeral services by a week to give our Elizabeth room to recuperate and to be able to attend her mother’s send off,” read the statement by spokesperson Gor Semelang’o.
The newly revised schedule now reads as follow:
Tuesday, 5th October, 12pm – 2pm – Celebration mass at All Saints Cathedral (Nairobi)
Wednesday, 6th October, 2 pm to 4 pm – Celebration mass, St. Stephen’s Cathedral Church (Kisumu)
Saturday, 9th October, from 10 am – Celebration mass & burial (all day), Tondorie Estate, Kitale
“The ORM Fundraising Committee has extended its activities and will hold a major event on Saturday, 2nd October at 4 pm at the residence of The Late Amb. Orie Rogo-Manduli – Ardwyn Hse, (Riverside),” added the statement.
Orie Rogo Manduli died at her Riverside home in Nairobi on September 8, 2021.
