MAN STABS THREE AS HE ATTEMPTS TO ROB EQUITY BANK

A suspected bank robber was shot and injured on Tuesday as he attempted to rob an Equity Bank branch in Nairobi’s Nairobi West area.

Three people, two BM Security guards and a bank customer were rushed to hospital with injuries after the suspect stabbed them as he attempted to rob
the bank in the mid-morning incident.

Nairobi Regional Police Commander James Mugera says the man then rushed inside the bank into the bank manager’s office and demanded cash.

It was then that armed police officers who were guarding the bank opened fire, and shot him twice – on the shoulder and stomach – bringing the attempted robbery incident to an end. One guard is said to be in critical condition.
