KIVUTHA KIBWANA JOINS KENYA KWANZA

Outgoing Makueni County Governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana has joined President-elect William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza political camp.

Ruto announced on Tuesday that Professor Kibwana would be part of the Kenya Kwanza legal team in the ongoing presidential election petition filed by the Azimio coalition.

“We associate with the leadership that Prof. Kivutha Kibwana has manifested in agreeing to work with us in furthering our country’s development agenda. The Makueni Governor will join the Kenya Kwanza legal team in the ongoing presidential election petition,” said Ruto in a tweet.

Prof. Kibwana, who was accompanied by other leaders, was welcomed to Kenya Kwanza at Ruto’s official Karen residence.

The move by Kibwana to join the Kenya Kwanza team comes as a surprise as he was a key player in the Raila Odinga-led Azimio La Umoja coalition.

In the just-concluded August 9th elections, Kibwana lost in the Makueni Senatorial race after being trounced by Dan Maanzo.
