“I THINK THOSE ARE WISHFUL THINKERS” KALONZO DENIES CLAIMS OF JOINING KENYA KWANZA

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has denied claims that he could be among the biggest signings in President-elect William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza coalition.

Addressing journalists after a church service in Nairobi, Kalonzo said he is focused on the legal process that the Azimio la Umoja coalition is undertaking to challenge the presidential results.

“I think those are wishful thinkers and you know where we are going…. We are going straight to the Supreme Court,” Kalonzo said concerning claims that he is considering working with Ruto.

Kalonzo’s statement comes amid uproar from leaders in the Azimio la Umoja coalition, who have faulted Ruto for wooing its members into the Kenya Kwanza camp.

On Friday, Martha Karua called out Ruto for signing pacts with parties that were under Azimio, terming it as a disregard to the law.

“So for the DP to start wooing people and enticing them to leave a coalition without the requisite legal provision is either a display of impunity or gross ignorance of the law of the land, I think knowing him, his true colours are showing lack of respect for the rule of law and deficit of democracy in his actions,” Karua said.

During the church service on Sunday, Kalonzo further faulted the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for the manner in which it conducted the election.

“I have vied for elections many times in our country, and I have never seen a situation where the body charged with the responsibility of conducting a General Election ends up short changing the whole country,” he said.
