Panic gripped Baringo valley and its environs, Nyota ward in Kuresoi North sub-county of Nakuru county, after a primary school deputy headteacher in his forties was attacked, stabbed, and killed with a kitchen knife by a former Prisons Officer Peter Korir over allegations of having an affair with his wife.
Police officers from Kuresoi police station responded quickly to protests over incident on Thursday as angry locals in turn attacked the former officer with crude weapons before he was whisked away by cops.
Confirming the incident, the area chief John Macharia said the deceased was headed home during the 6.30p.m incident which happened some 400 meters away from the school.
The attacker reportedly way laid the teacher inside a maize plantation, according to witnesses.
The body of the deceased was removed to Molo Funeral Home while the suspect who had sustained deep cuts all over his body was rushed to a local hospital.
